Developer Al Neyer Inc. will break ground Thursday on a new global headquarters for Medpace Inc. in Madisonville.

The 132,000-square-foot facility will be built on 7.5 acres of Red Bank Road, on the site of the old Nutone plant. The project will cost $15 million.

The pharmaceutical research and development company expects to move its 600 employees from Norwood to the building late this year. Medpace, which ranked 49th on the Deloitte Cincinnati USA 100 list of the largest privately held businesses in the region with 2008 revenues of $143 million, plans to double in size by 2014. It could build more facilities at the Madisonville site to accommodate that growth.

A Clean Ohio grant from the state of Ohio allowed environmental remediation to begin on the site in 2009.
